• Registration requirements 2019 – 2020

  • 1. Course calendar

     

    a. The courses are given for an annual period from 9 September 2019 to 26 June 2019.

    b. They will not take place during the school holidays of Zone C and public holidays.

    c. A course calendar is available on the Internet portal provided. Please refer to it as often as possible.

    d. 48 hours before each course an automatic email will be sent to inform you that the course will take place. Please note that there is no email sent informing you that a course is not planned.

    During the school holidays, internships can be organised according to requests.


    2. Rates and payment conditions

     

    a. The fees are annual and the fixed prices are neither transferable nor refundable, unless there is a serious and duly justified reason such as a move out of the sector or an inability to play the piano during the entire period of the course.

    b. The school does not accept cash payment.

    c. Payment cannot be made via the teachers. Any cheque sent must be accompanied by the associated invoice. Partial payments of invoices are not accepted.

    d. During the year, as they progress, students must buy music scores or solfège notebooks. An invoice will then be issued and must be paid online before the due date.

    e. A penalty of €10 will be applied on any invoice not paid by the due date. The school reserves the right to suspend the student's lessons after the due date of an outstanding invoice. Courses not taken will not then be subject to a request for compensation or reimbursement.

    f. Payment is made at the time of registration accompanied by the complete file duly signed.

    g. Courses are payable in advance, only by cheque or credit card.

     

    3. Registration fee of 50€, non-refundable.

    a. These fees are charged for each child enrolled in the same family.

    b. The amount of these fees does not vary according to the registration date.

    c. These fees must be paid directly online for any pre-registration.

     

    4. Choice of teacher

     

    a. This choice of teacher is the sole responsibility of PIANO ACADEMIE

    b. Our piano school reserves the right to change the teacher initially assigned. This change cannot be the subject of a request for early termination of classes and reimbursement.

    c. The school may substitute a teacher for one or more courses without having to justify itself.

     

    5. Private tutoring at school


    a. No absence from a course at school will be subject to a request for compensation or reimbursement.

    b. Absences due to participation in a school trip are the only absences that the school will take into consideration.

    c. The course start time must be respected. A late start of a course cannot be the subject of a catch-up request.

    d. The duration is approximately 60 minutes: the duration of the course can be shortened by the teacher if the latter considers that the objective of the course is achieved by the student. This change cannot be the subject of a complaint.

    e. Courses taken at the piano school cannot be the subject of a request for a tax certificate.

    f. The students will have to come to PIANO school twice a year for a control class by Mrs LEE or one of her assistants. This test course, organised as a Master Class, which lasts a maximum of about 30 minutes, will be charged 30 euros per student.

     

    6. Group courses

    a. No absence from a group course may be the subject of a request for compensation or reimbursement.

    b. Serious reasons for absence such as moving out of the sector or being unable to play the piano during the entire course period cannot be taken into consideration for group lessons.

    c. The commitment to a group course is valid for the school year. The transition to private tuition during the year is not accepted.

    d. The groups are composed in a balanced way. However, a child in the group who does not work enough may penalize the rest of the group. In this case, the school may require the student to follow up for a period of at least two months to register for the courses by video call ALLO PIANO.

    e. It is not up to parents to ask for the group to consist of a maximum of two children. The school can at any time change a group from two to three children.

    f. The course start time must be respected. A late start of a course cannot be the subject of a catch-up request.

    g. The duration is approximately 60 minutes: the duration of the course can be shortened by the teacher if the latter considers that the objective of the course is achieved by the students in the group. This change cannot be the subject of a complaint.

    h. Courses taken at the piano school cannot be the subject of a request for a tax certificate.

    i. The students will have to come to PIANO school twice a year for a control class by Mrs LEE or one of her assistants. This test course, organised as a Master Class, which lasts a maximum of about 30 minutes, will be charged 30 euros per student.

     

    7. Private tutoring at home


    a. No absence from a home course may be the subject of a request for compensation or reimbursement.

    b. Absences due to participation in a school trip are the only absences that the school will take into consideration.

    c. The course start time must be respected. A late start of a course may not be the subject of a request for remedial action unless the delay is attributable to the teacher and exceeds 10 minutes.

    d. The duration is approximately 60 minutes: the duration of the course can be shortened by the teacher if the latter considers that the objective of the course is achieved by the student. This change cannot be the subject of a complaint.

    e. A tax certificate will be sent for students taking home lessons at the beginning of 2020. Courses taken at the piano school cannot be the subject of a request for a tax certificate.

    f. The students will have to come to PIANO school twice a year for a control class by Mrs LEE or one of her assistants. This test course, organised as a Master Class, which lasts a maximum of about 30 minutes, will be charged 30 euros per student.

     

    8. Concerts


    a. An end-of-year concert is organized each year. It is part of the school's pedagogy. The student's participation in this concert is mandatory.

    b. A score may be published for this concert. It will be invoiced during the year and its price will not exceed 30€. The purchase of this score is not optional.

    c. The cost of attending the end-of-year concert includes two tickets for parents and a program for the concert. Any additional places will have to be paid separately.

    d. Charity Concert - "Piano à cœur": Throughout the year, Piano académie is committed to giving charity concerts to EPAHDs and Hospitals. Children's participation in these concerts is optional but strongly recommended.

    e. Non-participation in these concerts throughout the year may constitute grounds for refusal of registration for the following year.

    f. A contribution of 10€ per student is required from parents to cover the remuneration of the teachers. An invoice will then be sent at the end of the concert and must be paid online, respecting the due date of the invoice.

    9. Official communication with the school


    a. Any official communication must be made by email or post

    b. You must notify us of any email changes (this can be done directly in the parent/teacher portal)

    c. The email to be used for administrative purposes is: administration@piano-academie.com

    d. The email to be used for accounting purposes is: comptabilite@piano-academie.com

    e. Be sure to check that our emails reach you from the beginning. It may indeed be possible that our emails go directly into your spam box

    f. The school portal is a necessary gateway to register for charity concerts, the end-of-year concert and the master classes organised by the school. The school will not make any online slot reservations.

    g. As cordiality is part of the school's values, it will not be tolerated to receive messages that do not respect this principle. The school reserves the right to unilaterally suspend the student's classes without compensation.

     

    10. Location of the courses

     


    a. Courses are offered in the following locations: 2 bis rue Scheffer, 75116 PARIS or at 19 Rue de la Pompe, 75116 PARIS.

    11. In order not to disturb the smooth running of the lessons, parents are not allowed to attend the lessons. An open house or show will be organized during the year.

     

    12. Our establishment declines all responsibility in the event of theft from the premises, despite its vigilance. Personal belongings are the sole responsibility of the owner.

     

    13. As our school has not taken out individual civil liability insurance, it is the responsibility of each student or his or her legal representative to cover this coverage.

     

    14. Our school reserves the right to use the image of registered students free of charge and without present or future consideration for communication and advertising purposes on any medium whatsoever. Please inform us by post or email if this clause is rejected.

     

    15. The subscriber or his legal representative declares that he has read the pricing conditions, the payment terms and the Academy's internal regulations.
