a. Courses are given for an annual period running from September 11, 2023 to June 22, 2024.
b. They will not be held during Zone C school vacations and public holidays.
c. A course calendar is available on the web portal. Please refer to it as often as possible.
d. 48h before each course an automatic email will be sent to inform you that the course will take place. Please note that no email will be sent informing you that a class is not scheduled.
e. The commitment is requested for the full school year. An interruption of classes during the year will not be eligible for a refund, whatever the reason.
a. Fees are annual and packages are non-transferable and non-refundable, except for serious and duly justified reasons such as moving out of the area or an inability to play the piano during the entire course period.
b. The school does not accept cash payments.
c. Payment cannot be made via the teachers. All cheques must be accompanied by the associated invoice. Partial payments of invoices are not accepted.
d. Courses are payable in advance, by cheque or credit card only.
e. Payment must be made at the time of enrolment, accompanied by a signed enrolment form.
f. A penalty of 10€ will be applied to any invoice not paid by the due date. The school reserves the right to suspend the student’s lessons after the due date of an unpaid invoice. In this case, any unused lessons cannot be made up or reimbursed.
g. All invoices under €200 must be paid directly online. Payments by cheque will not be accepted in this case.
h. During the course of the year, students are required to purchase scores or music books as they progress. Scores must be ordered directly from the www.piano-academie.com website. A store has been set up for this purpose.
i. The changeover of certain courses to distance learning at the request of parents will not give rise to a request for a change of tariff for these courses. Only courses switched to distance learning due to government-imposed health restrictions or transport strikes will benefit from the price adjustment implemented by the school.
The €70 registration fee is non-refundable.
b. This fee is charged for each child registered within the same family.
c. The registration fee is waived for the 3rd child or more.
d. The registration fee is €35 for all registrations made between January 1, 2024 and before May 01, 2023.
a. This choice of teacher is the sole responsibility of PIANO ACADEMIE.
b. Our piano school reserves the right to change the teacher initially assigned. Such a change will not give rise to a request for early termination of lessons or a refund.
c. The school may substitute a teacher for one or more lessons without justification.
a. No absence from a course at the school may be the subject of a request for a make-up or refund.
b. Absences due to participation in a school trip are the only absences that the school will consider. Proof of attendance may be requested by the school.
c. In the event of a transport strike, the course will be organized as a video call. The course cannot be postponed or refunded. The course will be billed at the school’s video call rate.
d. The course start time must be respected. A late start to a lesson will not entitle the student to a make-up lesson.
e. The duration of the course is approximately 60 minutes: the teacher may shorten the course if he/she considers that the student has achieved the objective of the course. This change is not subject to complaint.
f. Lessons taken at the piano school cannot be the subject of a request for a tax certificate.
g. Students must come to the PIANO SCHOOL twice a year for a check-up lesson by Mrs LEE or one of the referent teachers. This control class is organized either in the form of a concert, Rue de Richelieu, or in the form of a Master Class or a simple audition. Non-participation in this type of course cannot be the subject of a request for a refund or credit note.
a. No absence from a home lesson may be the subject of a request for a make-up or refund.
b. Absences due to participation in a school trip are the only absences that the school will take into consideration.

f. A tax certificate will be sent to students taking home lessons at the beginning of 2024. Lessons taken at the piano school are not eligible for a tax certificate.
g. Students will be required to come to the PIANO SCHOOL twice a year for a check-up lesson by Mrs. LEE or one of the referent teachers. This check-up is organized either in the form of a concert at Rue de Richelieu, a Master Class or a simple audition. Non-participation in this type of course is not eligible for reimbursement or credit.
a. No absence from a group course may be made up or reimbursed.
b. Serious causes of absence such as moving out of the area or inability to practice piano for the entire course period may not be considered for group courses.
c. Commitment to a group course is valid for the school year. Switching to a private course during the year is not accepted.

e. Groups are formed on a balanced basis. However, a child in a group who does not work hard enough or misses a certain number of lessons may penalize the rest of the group. In this case, the school may require the student to:
i) to follow the ALLO PIANO video call for a minimum period of two months.
ii) the addition of a few private lessons to make up for lost time.
f. It is not the parents’ responsibility to request that the group be made up of a maximum of two children. The school may change the number of children in a group from two to three at any time without notifying the parents.
g. Class start times must be respected. A late start to a lesson will not entitle the child to a make-up lesson.

a. In such situations, courses will be switched to video call.
b. Courses will be billed at the video course rate offered by the school.
c. The student’s inability to take the video-call lesson (lack of internet access, insufficient bandwidth, piano not at home, refusal of this type of lesson, etc.) will not give rise to a request for a refund or credit note.
d. The lesson schedule will not be changed.
e. Group lessons will remain in the same format.
f. The end-of-year concert may be postponed to the following year.
g. Children with a temperature above 37.5C will not be accepted in the school. The teacher will take the child’s temperature on arrival at the school. The class must then take place in videocall.
a. An end-of-year concert is organized every year. It is part of the school’s pedagogy. Student preparation for this concert is mandatory.
i) The school will decide at the appropriate time whether the student is fit to take part in the end-of-year concert. The non-participation of the child cannot then be the subject of a request for a refund or credit note.
ii) Parents may for various reasons not wish their child to take part in the end-of-year concert. However, this decision cannot be the subject of a request for reimbursement of concert-related expenses. (Concert score, seats for parents, and child’s participation fee).
b. A score may be published for this concert.
c. The end-of-year concert fee includes two seats for parents. Any additional seats must be paid for separately. As an indication, an adult seat was sold in previous years for €20 and a child seat for €10.
d. In the event of cancellation of the concert (national case of force majeure), PIANO ACADEMIE makes no refund on this service.
e. Charity concert – « Piano à cœur »: throughout the year, Piano Académie works with EHPADs and Hospitals to offer « charity » concerts. Children’s participation in these concerts remains optional but is strongly recommended.
f. A flat-rate contribution per pupil is requested from parents to cover the remuneration of the speakers. Registration for these concerts is made directly online at www.piano-academie.com

f. the www.piano-academie.com site is a necessary passage to make registrations for charity concerts, the end-of-year concert and master classes organized by the school. The school will not make any direct slot reservations.
g. As cordiality is one of the school’s values, it will not be tolerated to receive messages that do not respect this principle. The school then reserves the right to unilaterally suspend the student’s lessons without compensation.
a. School courses and test courses are offered at the following locations: 2 bis rue Scheffer, 75116 PARIS or 19 Rue de la Pompe, 75116 PARIS or 1 rue Richelieu 75001 PARIS.
b. Parents are invited to indicate their preference for the location of the course. However, the school reserves the right to propose the most appropriate location according to the time slot and type of course requested by the student.
c. In order not to disrupt the smooth running of lessons, parents are not allowed to attend classes. An open house or show will be organized during the year.
d. Our school declines all responsibility for theft on the premises, despite its vigilance. Personal belongings are the exclusive responsibility of the owner.
e. As our establishment has not taken out individual civil liability insurance, it is the responsibility of each student or their legal representative to cover this..
